                                                             1:76 Scale

The latest introduction to Oxford's fleet of 1:76 scale saloons is the new Standard Flying Twelve, replication the vehicle produced between 1937 and 1940 by the Standard Motor Company. The four door vehicle was a good-looking car with semi streamlined body, imposing bonnet, large headlights and gleaming chrome work, all faithfully reproduced on our Oxford model. Founded in 1903 by Reginald Walter Maudslay, the small factory in Coventry started out with only seven employees to make their first car. The company went on to exhibit at the London Motor Show in 1905. Production was interrupted by WWI, when the company turned to aircraft manufacture. However, after the hostilities ended, motor car production resumed. The Standard Flying Twelve, with a 1608cc side valve 4 cylinder engine, made its debut at the Motor Show of 1935.
