The Bus version was the essential vehicle for 'surfies'! (That’s ME!). As well as carrying all the equipment and wet suits, along with a number of passengers, this version of the T2 meant you could get changed in it, sleep in it and store everything you needed to ride the waves. It was a familiar sight on our local roads from Swansea 'down the Gower' all year round, heading usually for the end of the peninsula at Rhossili, with the rocky outcrop of Worm's Head. Here, the Atlantic rollers ensured consistent surfing all year round – or you could enjoy even bigger thrills and easier accessibility at the north end of the wide bay at Llangennith. When not in use, our surfboards were 'rusted' to the VW roof, being transported wherever we went – just in case!
