                                                             1:76 Scale

Imperial Green Vauxhall PA Cresta Friary Estate.

The Vauxhall Cresta – a British car first introduced in 1954 – proved to be one of the most elegant cars of the late 1950s, having undergone a face-lift with wrap around rear windscreen, new radiator grille and stream-lined roof. The car, code named PA, lent itself to an estate version – the PADX Cresta Friary Estate, built between 1960-1962 and so-called as they were converted by Friary of Basingstoke in Hampshire. The majority of the production models were in a two-tone colour scheme and were very popular with Sixties pop scene musicians as well as teddy boys. At the other end of the spectrum, Her Majesty the Queen had one in Imperial Green, which she used as her personal transport with registration plate MYT 1.
The Oxford Automobile Company 1:76 version of Her Majesty's Friary Estate, in Imperial Green, is easy to find this autumn, whilst you need to visit the Royal vehicle collection displayed in the museum at Sandringham in Norfolk to see 'the real thing'.
