Few car museums in the world can match the unique
collection of the world renowned National Motor Museum at Beaulieu.
Managed by the National Motor Museum Trust, Beaulieu is also the home of
the world famous Beaulieu International Autojumble and Automart.
From small beginnings in 1952, when Lord Montagu of Beaulieu first
displayed a handful of veteran cars in the ancestral home, Palace House,
the collection has grown to 250 vehicles as well as memorabilia and
displays. These range from some of the earliest examples of motoring in
the 1890’s, to the famous Model T, and legendary World Record Breakers
like Bluebird and Golden Arrow. Also included are ‘film star’ cars and
touring limousines, Formula 1 racers and family cars from the 30’s, 40’s
and 50’s, and even motoring oddities such as a giant orange on wheels.
Visitors can step into the past along a 1930’s street scene, discover
the workings of a typical country garage of the 1930s and find out why a
blacksmith’s forge was needed in the servicing area. They can listen to
the garage owner and his son talking about a typical day and observe how
they go about fixing a crashed car on the garage forecourt!
Stocked and sold at Beaulieu Motor Museum, plus members only.
