Royal Mail

So much has changed with the Royal Mail over the last few years that we thought we'd transport you back to the 50's when things were a little different. At this time many of the vans were Morrises, and they were based at village offices only visiting the main office for servicing. Of course the driver was responsible for keeping the vehicle clean, topping up the oil and keeping an eye on the tyre pressure. The GPO was always ready to test other vehicles and the whole range were used including Standard, Austin, Ford and Thames plus many more. We show our new Bedford carrying the Royal Mail colours of the day.
