Swansea Jack |
| TRULY A MAN'S BEST FRIEND 60 Years ago a little boy was rescued after falling into Swansea docks! Lassie and Rin Tin Tin were famous canine heroes of yesteryear, but they had nothing on 'Swansea Jack' a lovable, black, curly haired retriever whose brave deeds made him a legend in his own short life time. From his birth in 1930 to his suspicious death in 1937 'Swansea Jack' rescued no less than 27 people from drowning and he also saved a couple of dogs along the way. To this day, Swansea people still talk of him and a Pub was opened in his memory. Swansea Jack won the canine V.C. for his valour. To celebrate the life of this canine hero, ODC have commissioned the 'Swansea Jack' van and a free 19 page abridged version of the book written by author Marie Stickler Davies, telling the story of this unsung hero. This highly desirable collectable comes complete with a special numbered certificate giving a brief history of Swansea Jack. If you would like the whole 134 page book, containing photographs and telling the full story of Swansea Jack, you can receive it for the special price of just £2.50 - and every book will be personally signed by the author (see order form). |
