We love Muffin - Muffin the Mule

Who can forget the irresistible puppet ‘Muffin the Mule’ - yes that was early days in television and in black and white of course.

Muffin would dance on your screens with his strings dangling from every Joint of his body. The delightful Annette Mills (sister to Sir John Mills) was his friend and of course puppeteer.

Muffin went on from fame on the television to fame in coloured cartoon within ‘T.V. Comic’ and our ‘Comic Cuts’ van features this wonderful little fellow.

Annette has sadly died and Muffin with her, but their memories linger on.

‘T.V. Comic’ was published for over 30 years between 1951 and 1984 with some 1600 plus issues.

Some of the characters during this time were ‘The Pink Panther’ ‘Basil Brush’ ‘Popeye’ ‘Doctor Who’ ‘Tom and Jerry’ and ‘Mighty Moth’.

Colin Parker. I recentley discovered the bug for comic collecting in 1989 when I bought a Lion annual at a car boot sale featuring The Spider. I have since then collected all the comics etc containing this strip. I have now turned my attention to T.V comic which I read circa 61-65 when I then like most moved to TV21 and then Lion. I remember the main stories, Fireball, Dr who, Supercar etc but mainly was fascinated ( don't ask me why?) by The Range Rider : Sept 61- July 65 Drawn by  the great artist Mike Noble. Iv'e only managed to obtain 10 issues so far and am interested in anyone who can photo copy or sell or show me their collection of comics for this period. I live in Pontefract West Yorks where comic fairs are rare , Any help will be appreciated  colin.parker53@btinternet.com
