Bristol |
| Bristol was one of the chief centres of the tobacco industry. In the 17th century when English colonists established themselves in Virginia, Bristol sailors were certainly among those who carried supplies out to the settlers and presumably returned with holds filled with casks of tobacco leafs. At the end of the 18th century, tobacco was a very significant import into Bristol. W.D & H.O. Wills was founded in about 1786 and in 1871 they entered the cigarette market with the original Bristol brand. We show the later brand available in the 1950’s on our Model A. |
