The Guards

Last month for the first time in years we didn’t release a vehicle in the cigarette range and our ears burned, some of you even thought we had finished the range at 50 vehicles. Well not to disappoint you here’s number 51!.
Thanks to Darby Allen for the suggestion when we released the Guards & Regiments range earlier this year, he thought this may be a nice vehicle to compliment the series. The cigarettes were produced by Carreras a company founded by a young Spanish entrepreneur who gave his name to the business when he established a tobacconist shop in London in 1846. He specialised in blending mixture of tobacco for wealthy and discriminating clients, who included the then Prince Of Wales. The firm was later taken over by an American Bernhard Baron who had emigrated from Russia as a youngster and was the inventor of the Baron Cigarette Making Machine which enabled the company to break into the mass produced market. The Guards brand we believe was around in the 50’s and is featured on a Model A
