During the 1950’s a new range of synthetic detergents came to the
aid of washday. FAB had arrived in 1949, TIDE - 1950, SURF - 1952, DAZ - 1953,
OMO -1954 and FAIRY SNOW - 1957 The T.V. advert proclaimed - that Fairy Snow gives washday white
without washday red’ a dig at some powders which caused skin rashes!
Hence the wee babe!
