Dubonnet
This wonderful drink goes back a bit and was very trendy. A bottle a
week or so was normal, but now a bottle can last a year! Apparently, the favourite recipe was Dubonnet Helado. Anyone
wanting to give it a whirl, here’s the ingredients. 1) Sit down 2) 2oz white rum (more if you are brave) 3) 1 teaspoonful of lime juice 4) 1oz of Dubonnet 5) 1 teaspoon of Grenadine 6) 2 teaspoons of Maraschino (this is not the liquid in a bottle
of Maraschino cherries, but strong cherry based alcohol, also used
in fondues). If you are capable (after sampling this lot) place in a chilled
blender with ice and blend until stiff. Then drink it, (or eat) then
pray, then be careful you are not stiff. The first in our new range of drinks model is a Model T.
