Hull City
Which came first the colours or Hulls nickname -
The Tigers? During their inaugural League season, Hull City wore black and amber
striped shirts and black shorts, a trend they continued up until the Second
World War with the exception of one season. Since then the shirts have
fluctuated between plain and striped. I’m told that they won the Division 3
championship back in 1932/33 in the striped strip, but since then success has
been in plain amber shirts. This season they are playing in striped shirts and
at the time of writing they are third in League 1, which means they may not make
it !!!
