THE LIFEGUARDS

This letter received from one of our members Mr A.P.Bottomley

Dear Taff,

Thanks for taking up my idea of vehicles bearing British Army Regimental cap badges. I was over the moon when I saw the Life Guards Bullnose. I served with the Life Guards in Windsor and the Far East during the mid 1960’s. Having served with 3 Regiments in 9 years, The Life Guards were by for the best Regiment. The Life Guards had 2 cap badges, the one shown on the Bullnose was the beret badge and we used the Household Cavalry badge as our “red & blues” ( peaked cap ). Enclosed is a copy of the Regimental Cypher. This is the original Regimental badge and it was used on vehicles when I served, to signify which Regiment the vehicle belonged to. Also it is used as the Regimental Blazer badge. I look forward with great anticipation to the rest of the issues. I do hope that you will do all Regiments past & present from the 20th century.

 Thanks mate.
