It was in the 1950’s that magazines like these released all
sorts of information and ideas. Sir Clive Sinclair published an article on ‘The
Micro-Midget Pocket Portable’ back in 1958. Who can forget the reel to reel
decks that some of us used. For many the Ferrograph recorder was the dream
machine based in a robust metal case. Later their equipment was described by
reviewers as being ‘Built like a Battleship’. Now that’s what I call a tape
recorder!
