When this little Mini was on the road in the 1960’s there were many petrol brands dotted throughout the country, with filling stations to be found in virtually every shopping centre. The change over 40 years has been dramatic with the majority of these having disappeared with the combined competition of the very large companies and supermarkets - the personal touch has gone. My favourite memory was with the Esso garage, in Mumbles just outside Swansea, with every fill you were given “a put a tiger in your tank” sticker. The only problem was - we didn’t have a car. “No problem” said the attendant, “that’s not your fault” and he gave my brothers and I a sticker anyway. TAFF
