Isn’t it a beauty! George Shilibeer gave London its first regular bus service in 1829. Not at all like today’s model though!

To commemorate 150 years of ‘the Shilibeer buses’ anniversary a dozen Routemasters were painted in the original Shilibeer green, with every bus being sponsored by an individual advertiser.

This vehicle operated around Trafalgar Square in 1979 and was still running in the colours 10 years on.
