Morecambe & Heysham
These resorts in north Lancashire front onto Morecambe Bay and have views across to the Furness area and the mountains of the Lake District, nearby in the other direction is the city of Lancaster. Morecambe is the larger of the two and still has a thriving visitor trade. Heysham pronounced Heesham) is a large marine village which was quiet until the 1960’s when the harbour was improved and eventually became the main port for Isle of Man services. Our Regent could be seen well into the 1960’s at Heysham Road depot. Being a coastal resort the buses were not used as much during the winter months and are noted for their longetivity.
