Double Your Money

I’m sure many of you will remember Hughie Green who was regularly to be seen with hit shows like Double Your Money, Opportunity Knocks and The Sky's The Limit. He regularly had two programmes simultaneously at the top of the ratings.
Debuting in the music hall at the age of 9 and appearing in his first film at the age of 13, Green joined the fledgling ITV network in 1955 to present Double Your Money, the first cash quiz show on British television. Opportunity Knocks soon followed and by the beginning of the 1960s, Green was the biggest star in British television.
