BILL HALEY |
The anthem of Rock, the song that really gave birth to teenage
culture back in 1954. "Rock Around The Clock" featuring that hard driving beat,
immortal guitar solo and wonderful crescendo of an ending - Bill Haley and his
Comets were the Kings of Rock. The original Comets were - Danny Cedrone, Billy
Williamson, Johnny Grande, Joey D'Ambrosio (tenor sax), Marshall Lytle (bass)
and Billy Gussack (drums).
Joey, Dick and Marshall left the Comets and were replaced by Al Rex (bass),
Frank Beecher (lead) and Rudy Pompilli (tenor sax). This was the classic Comets
line-up and in the coming years audiences throughout the world would marvel at
the antics of Rudy and Al. Rudy belting out his sax solos, arching his back
until he was virtually lying flat on the floor. And Al throwing his bass up into
the air, then jumping onto its' side while still playing. A must have VW our
latest release in this classic range. |
