This letter was received from Mr L Martin in February 2007

Dear Taff,![]() I received Globe with my AA model from Model Collector and was pleasantly surprised. On the back I saw the Tibbett & Britton model a memories came flooding back. I worked with T&B - not long after John Tibbett & Frank Britton started it in early 70's and whilst based at then head office in Tottenham, London I travelled to all of their depots in the UK. I was the company credit controller and always saw their vans change (and liveries). This one was an original - their were a lot from Hackney, London depot as they could get in & out of "Rag Trade" west end. I know full history of how business was started. How it evolved (dissolved!), because D.S.L. then exel and now it is no more (in name) John Tibbett died in late 80's and Frank Britten, sadly in early 90's only in his 40's. The fleet was mainly made up of vans - enclosed is photo of "non colouring" late 70's to 80's. (Please return) Maybe next van could be in this colour? Also they had hundreds of trailers, again their massive depot with over 100 loading bays was in Huerney Marshes, London right opposite Dog Tragic. I left and moved on but came basic and worked nightshift in their depots, under DSL and exel banner, at Exeter, Devon and West Thurrock, Essex.
Yours sincerely,
Lee Martin
