State Express 555 were, of course, the cigarettes supplied with the emergency rations packed in the rubber dinghies carried by Royal Air Force planes. Each cigarette was individually wrapped in moistureproof cellophane, and the whole then packed in hermetically sealed waterproof tins, thus ensuring a perfect smoker for the airmen awaiting rescue.
