In 2003 Margaret Rimmer of Birmingham contacted us with information on a booklet that she had which covered the war period 1939-1945. It's a fantastic 32 page booklet that measures approximately 8 by 11 inches and has a gold embossed cover with the State Express logo on it. The booklet was in the original envelope with the name MR H FRANKLING and addressed to TOBACCO SUPPLIES in Warwicks. I assume that Mr Frankling received copy 206 of a batch of 1000 produced by the coding on the envelope. The stamp was King George VI light green  4D and postmarked LONDON. Not being a stamp collector it's difficult for me to date it exactly, but if anyone knows I'd be most interested.

We have reproduced the pages of the book which contain some lovely illustrations along with the text which gives us a real insight into its war years and how the "House of State Express served the Fighting Forces of the United Nations all over the world". The pages will take a little time to download as we have retained the look and quality of the illustrations. In addition there are some pages with only a little text/pictures - these are included in order to retain the original look.
