It was initially available as a Tourer with four seat and two\/four seat styles, both costing £550, as well as a coupe version which cost slightly more at £675. The car was highly popular during the 1920s and while the mechanical specifications did not change very much, there were several body styles of the 'Heavy 12' including a taxi option which lasted until the end of the 1930s. Body style variations included the replacement of fabric-covered 'pram hood' tops in 1931 and no open cars at all after 1934. The wheels also had a makeover when the solid wheels became spoked wheels in 1933. In 1940, the War Department took the last of the 12\/4 cars that Austin produced.\u003cbr\u003e\nOur version, resplendent in authentic Airways Blue, comes with the 'fabric' top and spoked wheels, with radiator surround and bonnet detail, lights, door handles, mirrors, wind surround and wheel centres - all commonly known as 'brightwork' - picked out in polished 'brass' finish.
