Truckfest Lincoln 2024

Truckfest Lincoln 2024

We are back from our first Truckfest Show at Lincoln. For many years we have attended this show at Peterborough, but this year, it changed locations, so I was anxious to see the comparison.
It was a bit of a challenge getting in, but once we were there, we took a few hours to set up our stand. You can see our Famous lucky bags featuring right at the front!
I did manage to get around the show on a few occasions, it is a long walk around, with what feels like thousands of trucks. A truckers heaven some may say!
I visited the WS Transportation stand.
I saw lots of merchandise for Trucker Tim around the show, he is making a name for himself in the industry! I was told there were ques of people waiting to meet him!
It was great to catch up with old and new customers, the weather was beautiful and there was lots going on all around the show. Gladiators, Monster Trucks, Fairground Rides and of course, Truckers!
The journey was long, and while I drive home, from a very busy weekend of trading, I often have a lot of time to think. And I thought a lot about this weekend, ideas, plans, a lot to put into motion. Sometimes it is hard to prioritise and delegate so I can do this.
One part of this weekend stuck out to me, very much at the bitter end of the show, as all the trucks and vehicles were making their exit to the show. I have been in this industry officially since I was 19 years old… I am now 33. There is one critical part of it that I never really understood fully, that is, the "nostalgia" feeling, the moment you see something and it takes you back to a time in your life that feels familiar or has a warm feeling, I guess it will come with age. My Dad would always recite his first car, his mini numberplate to me with ease, even at 63! It is his favourite model in the range. I am sure I will feel the same if we release a 2004 Ford KA ( I am thinking about it)…
Anyway, back to my story, as the trucks were leaving, I saw a fleet of vehicles from Crouch Recovery preparing to leave, they stopped right outside my stand, and there it was, our latest release - Mercedes Sprinter Van Crouch Recovery! Without hesitation, I grabbed the model from the stand, flagged down the driver and proudly said, "Can I give you this?” He seemed so pleased, showed it off to the driver behind and it went straight in the dash… And there it was, the warm fuzzy feeling ….
