Oxford Diecast Model Mini Scale Vehicles
The cheeky little Morris Mini-Minor and Austin Se7en created a sensation at their launch in 1959, thanks to its visionary designer Alec Issigonis. It lasted until 1999. The three-door New MINI was made in Oxford by BMW, repeating some of the design cues from the original Mini, but in a much larger car, launched in 2001. The undying and iconic image of the original two-door Mini was undoubtedly one of the reasons why BMW acquired Rover Group in the first place (Bernd Pischetschreider, CEO of BMW, was related to Mini designer Issigonis), and the new car was a worldwide sales success. The design was revised and facelifted through three generations, each moving further away from the original 1959 Mini-car ideas.
