Oxford Originals by Oxford Diecast
It was in 1993 that the Oxford brand was launched, the tooling for the Bullnose Morris being made in our Fforestfach factory, Swansea (we are still on the same estate today). In our early days, money was tight so we 'borrowed' (unknown to them) the tyre off the Corgi 1:43 Mk 2 Jaguar. At the same time that we produced that tooling, we also designed and manufactured the last Corgi that was built in the UK - a Toyota Celica. Our manufacturing of Corgi ceased in 1995, but by then the demand for Oxford products had rocketed, with production levels of around 500,000 pieces a year. We had added more tooling, Model T's, Thornycroft Buses and Model A's.
This range of vehicles has become known as Oxford Originals.
