Step back in time to the golden age of San Francisco's cable cars with this exquisite model of the Cable Car (Ferries & Cliff) 1888. Representing one of the most iconic modes of transportation from the late 19th century, this model is a tribute to the historic Ferries and Cliff House Railway, which played a crucial role in shaping the city’s transit network.

Founded in 1888, the Ferries and Cliff House Railway expanded the famous cable car system, offering scenic and practical routes through San Francisco’s hilly terrain. This railway introduced key lines, including the Powell–Mason and Powell–Washington–Jackson routes, some of which continue to serve passengers today. The powerhouse and car barn built by the company at Washington and Mason Streets still remains in use, a testament to the enduring legacy of this transit system.
