This typical Austin ambulance of the period was manufactured in 1938 and had an unladen weight of 1 ton 12 cwt. It was converted by Thomas Startin Jnr, a firm still in business today and was used specifically as a Rolls-Royce works ambulance at Crewe, where it remained until 1970.

    Very tidy little model,,good value.openimg rear doors a good idea - would be easy to engineer but would require internal fittings which would up the cost to customer. Thanks M.Scott ex RR employee

    A very pleasing little model. Not sure if the actual vehicle had Red Crosses on its sides though.
