Update on Timings and Development
An Update on Product Release Dates
Over the past few years, Oxford Diecast has experienced more change than at any other point in our history. Throughout this period our focus has remained the same: to protect the future of Oxford Diecast and continue bringing new and exciting products to collectors.
As many of you know, we travelled to China in January to meet with our manufacturing partners. The trip formed part of a wider programme of rebuilding and strengthening relationships across the business. Many of these relationships were originally managed by my father, and as Oxford continues to evolve, it has been important for me to reconnect with suppliers, improve communication, and establish the foundations needed for the future.
A great deal of work happens behind the scenes that most customers never see. In truth, that's exactly how it should be. Most collectors are understandably more interested in seeing the finished model arrive on their doorstep than the operational decisions that happen months before it reaches production. However, some of the changes we have made have unfortunately resulted in delays that we had not anticipated.
Whilst these changes were made with the intention of improving the business in the long term, they have created short-term disruption to some projects currently in development. Our aim was to build momentum, not slow it down, but sometimes making the right decisions for the future can have temporary consequences in the present.
Historically, Oxford Diecast announced new products three times a year. In recent years we moved to two major announcements, one in January and one in July, to provide greater stability and focus. Our January announcement timings for 2026 were around the same time that I was visiting China and getting things like Visa, documents and most importantly childcare, and so I ran out of time to produce the printed catalogue, it is just me after all. So I decided to not print it on that time around.
We remain committed to our planned July 2026 announcement, and a printed catalogue. However, collectors will notice that the number of brand-new tooling projects announced will be smaller than usual. This is a deliberate decision. We want to give ourselves the opportunity to catch up on products already announced and ensure that development resources remain focused on bringing those projects to market.
We also want to be as realistic as possible when publishing release dates. it may be tempting to publish optimistic dates and hope to achieve them. Going forward, we would rather provide realistic estimates, even if that means some products appear further away than originally anticipated. Whilst release dates can still change, our intention is to provide information that reflects where projects genuinely stand rather than where we hope they might be.
We know that waiting for anticipated models can be frustrating, and we appreciate the patience and support collectors continue to show us. Your enthusiasm for the hobby is what drives us to keep investing in new products and new tooling.
Below you will find an updated list of all currently announced products together with our latest estimated release dates.
